UPDATE ON JOHN #2

Thursday, October 15, 2015

Oh, where do I start?
Its been very hectic for all of us.
This past tuesday John got his first chemo. Also the pump in the port
Brought him back to the nursing faculty. Within a few hours we were notified that the nursing faculty was unable to keep him. Reason? State law to have a pump there has to be an registered nurse on duty all night! Their third shift only has linseed practical nurses. So, what do they do? They discharge them and send them home with out even Home Health Care!

Hubby stayed all night. Physically I am unable to do physical.

A HOME HEALTH care was to call yesterday. NOTHING! I got in contact, they were to call back, nothing.

We were contacted by another local firm. They are to be there this morning.

This afternoon we take him over to have the pump removed.

Yesterday when I came home, hubby called. Johns appliance came loose and there was you know what all over! Hubby changed it. Better him than me!!!

We sure need your Prayers!

That is awful. I hate when healthcare has to look the other way because laws prevent them from helping. I hope things are getting better. emoticon

We went through the same thing with my father when he had his peg tube. Nursing home law has requirements for staffing for each level of care. They could send him home where the laws don't pertain, and we could care for him ourselves.

oh my Janet I am so sorry. That's just not right that they discharged him without helping to find another facility for him. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
