As My Second 5K Looms on the Horizon...

So I have stayed true to my "training" schedule and continued to run 3 days per week and never two days in a row. I have met my 12,000 daily step goal for the past 5+ weeks. I feel like I am getting a little faster. Yet, I am concerned that my second 5K will show progress.

My goal for this race is to have a faster finishing time than the first. I know the course will be different (and should actually be faster with fewer hills) but when I look at the number of steps I took in 15 minute intervals in that first race it was much faster than any other runs I have had (before or after). So I am wondering if the race will spur me on like it did last month? And, the temps are supposed to by in the low 40s or high 30s at race time.

So much that only time will tell.

    Thanks - great advice. I kept my mantra "this is MY race" I improved, just not as much as I would have liked. I need to do more to improve my speed.

    Every race is different. Do your best, listen to your body, and accept what is. Visualize a wonderful run--you can do it!
