Day 72 - Sneak Eating

To overcome patterns of sneak eating, consider making a policy that you'll always eat sweets of favorite foods in the presence of at least one other person. Let others know you plan to never eat certain foods in private, then ask for their support.

This has not been something I have had a problem with. Since I include all the foods on my plan, and none are forbidden, I can eat what I want.

    Yeah, I don't have a problem with sneak snacking, but I think this is a good idea regardless.

    I too don't have a problem with sneak eating as such. But I did almost 2 decades ago would "sneak drink" from my friends and family. So I understand what you are going through. I no longer do that I am 17.5 years sober today. Best wishes to you.

    I have not experienced this either. Although, I remember an incident involving a relative decades ago. I walked in on her sneak eating and the look of horror in her face deeply disturbed me. I remember asking if she was okay and she responded, "Oh, I don't want anyone to see me eating. Watching someone eat is just gross!" I responded, "No it isn't! We all need to eat. There's nothing gross about it." Obviously, I did not get it. And, I still have no idea what was underlying her need to hide while she ate. She remains a very unhealthy, morbidly obese individual. It saddens me. Many of us have unhealthy psychological patterns underlying our eating behavior.     Never had a sneak eating problem myself! Many people do seem to buy into the idea if no one sees me eating it then it doesn't count!

    I don't keep those types of food in my house. I do have a treat day and will go once every two weeks and buy 5 pieces if this it 20 pieces of that. when I eat it I feel sick from the sweet and find the time spans between purchases is getting longer
