Puppies, Puppies Everywhere

Sunday, October 11, 2015

The last week has been so intense that I had to step back a couple of days before I could look at one more plea for a dog, puppies, cats, or kittens to be rescued before they had to be killed. By now, several hundred have died. Because of the thousands of illegals, the many military families in the state, the general transient nature of Texas population, these innocent animals are being dumped just anywhere or worse yet shut up in the houses and cages to starve. What is so twisted in people they can't honor a commitment when they take on responsibility for a pet? The slut who lives behind me spent three weeks in Orlando at Disneyland but she is too sorry to have her dogs spayed, so two have turned into four. Their nails are never cut; you never see them played with; two of them spent the entire three weeks in the back yard We are talking dogs weighing 3-4 pounds under an oak tree with an owl big enough to swallow them whole.

Only today, I saw a plea from a small shelter in Mt. Pleasant, Texas looking for a foster or rescue for a yellow lab mix and her precious newborn puppies by tomorrow or zap, they get exterminated. Is there no mercy left in this world? And I am not criticizing those shelters. Their hearts must break in to small pieces on a daily basis.

Sorry for the rant but I have to say these things and keep saying these things as long as there are people left who can change things!

God bless!

Near me is a "no kill" shelter for dogs and cats. I just found out about the no kill part. I knew it was there for awhile. For her own mental and physical help, our daughter will begin walking dogs there. The place is awesome--nicer than many nursing homes!

While speaking to a man who worked in an animal shelter, I learned that, because the employees have to put so many animals down, their rate of suicide is higher than that of many other people. Now we're dealing with souls! For goodness sake, I agree people should be much more responsible following through with the choices they make.

I have to agree with you about the treatment of animals. If you can't afford to properly care for one, don't turn it into many. If you don't want to play with and teach something to a pet, don't get one.
