How to Save a Life

Sunday, October 04, 2015

I haven't posted much the last couple of weeks but have spent more time on animal rescue efforts both in my financial giving and shelter support work. Here is my thought for the day on using Facebook for a good cause. Use the like, comment, and share buttons to save lives: many shelters will keep a dog longer if the posting gets 50 or more likes; a dog with no or only a few likes is more likely to be euthanized. They also look for comments so if you only share the photo with your friends, in the comments say "Shared." Then, actually share with all your friends because you don't know whether they or their friends might not be looking for or know someone who is looking for an animal. If every Sparker did that daily for at least 10 animals, the values would be exponential. And it costs you nothing except a very few minutes of your time.

Thanks for your comments. Cindy, a shelter will have to answer that question for you. I don't really know.

I don't know what they do in Evansville, In. to take care of fleas in our shelter. I
would think they would take care of it some how! I am a cat lover also! I had a cat
and I got one from a girl I worked with and she ran off when I opened the door to take out the trash. I see her all the time. She's roaming the street's out her, I seen he one time & she was pregnant. I thought she was pregnant. I would have thought
the girl I got her from would have taken care of that. Have a Marvelous & Blessed Day! lyl

My husband and I are cat lovers. The last one we got was from the SPCA. He had been at the shelter for four months. He's happy and content being in our home. I will be glad to keep this going.

I had stopped by to say hi and then decided to read your blog. I am a animal lover and hate it that I can't adopt all the homeless cats and dogs. I do see a lot about shelter dogs on facebook but never thought about liking and sharing to save a pet. Thank you for the hint. Hugs Pat.

I hesitate to sign, cause our spca is full, keeping dogs who've been there a long time means current homeless will die.I just adopted one who was there for a year, & I adore him, so I'm torn.
