Beck Trek - Chapter 9 - Day 33 - Eliminate Emotional Eating

I left my Beck book at work today...going from memory...
Boredom is my worst trigger for emotional eating. It typically occurs when I am waiting to go somewhere with hubby...I'm ready to go at the time he said we would leave...but he isn't.
Over the last 6 weeks I have overcome the urge to eat while I wait by using Beck's tools. I call this my 4 Ds.
Distract - find something to do...It has to be something that doesn't need a lot of effort or isn't very time consuming. (fold and put away a load of laundry, clean something, water plants, take the dogs for a short walk, pick out my clothes for the next day, pack up my workout clothes for the week, read blogs on sparkpeople)
Distance - I have eliminated the foods I would typically sit around and nosh on...salt free nuts was a big one. Good source of healthy fat, but not by the handful.
Drink - sip a calorie-free beverage
Detach - Deep breathing, stretching and relaxation
