Today I did an easy 10.8 mile hike to help get ready for my up coming half marathon. I met 5 girls, early morning, and we all had our therapy time. One of them said sarcastically, "my husband tells me other women go shopping together". One friend responded "I hate shopping". I personally love shopping, but I do tend to meet a lot of friends for hikes and runs. This group does a lot of marathons and ragnars. They are a healthy group most of the time (with some happy hour exceptions).
About two years ago, I met a very nice guy and we dated for three months... Then he sort of freaked out on me because I was the first women he dated after his 17 year marriage ended... And "his therapist said he wasn't ready for anything serious". Fair enough, the newly divorced are a bit crazy. We've stayed friends. Tomorrow we are meeting at the beach for breakfast and possibly a walk, if there is time. Him and I have this cool relationship where we talk about things like positive changes we can make to improve happiness, or ways to handle the ex's that are both productive and nonconfrontational . We tend to use each other for support. Good friends.. He's the kind of guy who reads self help books like on the language of love.... So we are meeting at the beach. It's only 5 miles from home, so I've decided I'm riding my bike. This is something I'd like to start doing more of, riding my bike around town. In fact my job is only 3.3 miles from home, and I'd like to start riding there too. I need to figure out what's sort of cute that I can ride my bike in.
So this weeks plan is:
Step 1- clean eat, lower carbs
Step 2-lunchtime walks (we did 20 minutes every day last week)
Step 3-ride my bike as much as I can (save the environment, save gas money, and get into better shape)...ride to and from work.
The following week, we are going to incorporate more strength training.
This is going to be a good week
