I still don't have all my furniture--and my apartment looks like the perfect place for Oscar the Grouch's cousin, Hubert the Box Monster; full boxes here, empty boxes there, and in between boxes everywhere else... LOL
My friend's hubby is STILL in the ICU. He was not tolerating the cold well, and had a lot of breathing problems, so they had to wake him. They've been feeding him through a tube into his stomach but he wasn't having bowel movements so they installed a tube--which wasn't working. They couldn't get him off the respirator even though he'd regained consciousness... he couldn't get enough oxygen and he would panic. They wanted to do a tracheotomy but the surgeon found out and had him moved to a cardiac surgical ward. They would have had to put him on blood thinners and that would have postponed the surgery. And the new hospital took out the tube and gave him a laxative! He's doing fine! LOL
Turns out the pulmonologist he'd seen the day before the heart attack had some test results the other hospital weren't taking into account. The pulmonologist at teh new hospital looked at them, and......yesterday he had surgery, not on his heart but on his LUNG! He passed his breathing test with flying colors almost immediately after the surgery, and they planned on removing the respirator sometime today but I haven't heard...
His heart is doing remarkable well, considering. They'll be putting in a stent and hopefully giving him a few months rest and rehab before they do the bypass.
Prayers really work.
He is not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a real miracle he's alive at all! And now he's got the right team working with him and he's doing very well, he actually has a chance now at a reasonably normal future...
Thanks gang, for your contributions!
Amigo isn't too happy right now. Can't say I blame him, three moves in three months... then a few nights ago he tried to get up in my bedroom window, and the blinds were down so he slipped--and fell right on the fan, which was running. The fan went crashing over, waking me up. Didn't know I could do sit-ups like that... I had to chase him down to make sure he didn't get injured again.
Now, he's hiding in his crate and doesn't want to come out even to eat. I'm dragging him out physically to spoon feed him. There's hope--last night he VOLUNTARILY ate the food I'd mixed his calming medicine in! He didn't eat his kibbles, but I think he's on his way to recovery... Poor little guy.
The other two are having fun, and getting curious about the rooms I haven't let them into. Still waiting for some of the furniture and I don't want to chase them around to bring the pieces in... LOL
As soon as I can find my camera, and there's something besides a sea of cardboard , I'll try posting some pictures.
