Do You Work to Live or Live to Work?

Friday, September 25, 2015

Do you strive for "more" for your career? If so, how do you balance work life? Or is that even possible with the choices you make?

Did you always think that you needed to keep climbing the corporate ladder? Did something happen to make you change your mind? If you chose to advance, did you do it your way or did you try the corporate cookie-cutter recommended method?

Inquiring minds (mine) want to hear more about it. Share?

P.S. Friends get married tomorrow. Rick and I cannot attend. Not to worry, I've just been notified they are livestreaming it. *glances to the right and then the left* Ok, am I just really old-fashioned or what? Hit me upside the head, but I'm not sure at all what I think about this!!

I am more "mature" and went through the "this job only had men before are you sure you can do it?" decade after decade ... and YES I DID it better than the guys according to my annual ratings .... it was tough and a long fight in job after job but I had me and my child to support .... I worked to live and make ends meet (never got support from ex which was not a priority for the law to go after him so they put me on the back burner with other women with the same problem) ....

Main thing is LOVE what you are doing each day -- makes the day so enjoyable ! Roc

I lived to work. I walked on May 8, 2008. Within a year I was down 80#, off all my meds and the happiest I'd been in years. I hold an upper mgmt position now but I live to live work just provides pocket money to do so.

I worked my way up the corporate ladder with nothing but good old blood, sweat and tears. At year 13 and in a C level position I was approximately 100# overweight, stressed was on myriad meds and basically had missed 13 years of my life.

No advancement possible at my job so work to live... I guess livestreaming a wedding is okay...you can be there without leaving your house! I guess that's a good thing!
