I need some suggestions on how to work out before I go to work, I hear a lot of people say they do this, but I can't seem to get the energy to get up extra early, before work.😟😟😟😟

    I don't even have a job away from home (homemaker is supposed to be a full time job, but I'm not real good at that, either). And frankly, I get overwhelmed at all the variety of dvd's and SP workout "tv" channel videos. The whole HIIT or Tabata thing (use SP search to find their articles on HIIT or even LISS (low intensity steady state) kinda ends up making sense because the idea seems to be going all out for like 15-20 seconds or longer, and a rest period of maybe half that time, and repeat as many cycles as you can (usually up to like 4 or 8 minutes cycles). Sometimes I just do that with whatever housework I am doing, or stand up and pump arms and do squats etc to keep it low intensity (don't want to wreck my knees on the concrete floor downstairs etc.). Someone mentioned jumping jacks in the bathroom at work and I had to laugh as I did that back in my single 20's, when I was working ... must have worked because I was never as heavy then as I was the last 20 years!!

    It can be tough. I am not a morning person. There are great short workouts on Spark, most videos 10 minutes so I sometimes get one of those done before work and then after dinner.

    Or I leave just a little earlier for work and stop at a well-lit strip mall to walk. It's L-shaped so I walk the length of it and back.

    I have also been known to do jumping jacks when I'm alone in the bathroom at work. I believe in short bursts of activity throughout the day to keep my metabolism fired up all day long.

    I can't get the energy, either. I try do do some after work, but I'm usually mentally tapped out and can't muster the willpower.

    I always break my exercise down into 10 or 15 minute intervals. I find that doing a bit throughout the day helps to keep my metabolism up too. I love to walk and do this outside as much as possible.

    It's super hard. I can only do it when I have to... and sometimes you have to view it like that "I NEED to wake up and get this done or I will have it weighing on my mind all day!" Keep reminding yourself of the WHY you want/need to get up and exercise in the morning instead. Just keep doing your best and working on it!

    I'm up anywhere between 5-5:30 in the am just to be sure to get my workout done. It was definitely hard to get up that early in the beginning...still hard some days but now I mostly enjoy the early mornings!
