Church harvest festival tonight

Saturday, September 19, 2015

Well going to our churches harvest festival tonight, and am a little worried about it. Mostly because of the food that will be on offer. It's being hosted by another ward RS group of ladies and is all Asian (which isn't a issue /problem) food that will be on offer. Which is great my husband and I love Asian food, my only issue is allergies n being celiac. Trying to get a straight answer is a blasted nightmare in the past n I don't see it changing this time either.

Already said we'd be there for dinner so it's a dun deal - going to pack a protein shake n bars and hope the veggies are safe or there is raw veggies/fruit that's not been contaminated. I'm actually thinking about bringing a container of plain rice and my gf soy sauce (like I fo for work) just so I've got something similar to what will be on offer.

Oh well at least the dance afterwards will burn some calories and make up for the lack of burn today in general.

.......... UPDATE ..........
Well there was Deep Fried Spring Rolls, Chow Main, Butter Rice, Chicken Legs, and Salty Veggies ... Didn't trust anything that was on offer, and it actually didn't even smell very good my husband said that it tasted alright but he didn't go back for seconds.

The dancing ya not what I was expecting by any stretch of the means - they had this county dancer person in and ummm ya not really what I was expecting to see that is for sure. Not danceable music, and the stuff that was being taught well the music it was set to didn't match the steps being taught.

But all in all it was a interesting evening out with my husband and we at least got to mingle with a few other's from our ward and others.

When my sister goes to a pot lock at her ward, she has to make her own meal and take with her. She will look at what is on the table, but most things have gluten or dairy of some kind so she plays it safe. The "Sorry" is just too much to handle....

Regardless of what you do for your meal, I hope you enjoy the dance. Have fun....
