Leaving for the weekend, had a fundraiser last night that was a complete flop. Though we'd handed out a lot of flyers which were to be brought to Texas Roadhouse (it's how they do their eatout fundraiser. the diners have to bring in a flyer that states they'll give 10% of their meal to CAMDEN Fundraiser); I only saw 8 of them..during the 4 hour period I was there, so I'm thinking we may have only made $10 during that time..it wasn't worth it. We did have a donation jar out and we did get $121.00 in that, which was wonderful.
It's confusing, because at McDonald's and nearly every other place, you don't need a flyer, they just give 20% of whoever dines, no matter what. This is the first place I've ever seen that only gives the percentage if someone brings a flyer...and 10% is the lowest I've seen, too. Most give 20%. I don't think we'll do another one at Texas Roadhouse, unfortunately, only my Mom and I (out of 20 board members) worked at it. I'd like to scream.
BUT that is fine, onto the next. The Ladies of Harley want us to do the Christmas Wrap again, which was wonderful and a lot of fun last year, and then a craft type sale..I love crafts, so I'm all for that.
I'm going to make a bunch of my candles and sell those, what do you think? I'll make all sorts of colors, and put different charms on them, so hopefully people will buy them. I could maybe put Sister, Mother, Brother, family, or hearts, etc on them, maybe a sun, I'll look around and see what I can find.
Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you Monday, never forget the smiles, and keep warm, from the sounds of it, where we're going, it's supposed to be in the upper 60's.
Oh, we had 3.3" of rain last night, and another 1/4" this morning....trees down and power lines in Janesville, it was a mess, and there was a funnel cloud seen near where our Daughter lives, so she was in the basement with our Grandpup, and Grandcat, Hercules. She sent a few pics of that.
Gator even brought his toy down with him and curled up with him:
