Today canned 7 jars of salsa to use this winter. I know you can buy it in the store, and this probably cost as much or even more by the time you cost in labor and electricity, etc.....but this way I know the tomatoes were grown with love and not pesticides. There is also something very satisfying about canning your own stuff.
Just got back from a week-long trip to the Shenandoah Valley of VA. We went to a Farmers Market and got the most delicious and perfect tomato I've ever laid eyes on! It was absolutely out of this world delicious!
