Canning, etc.

Tuesday, September 15, 2015

Spent a lot of time picking tomatoes, cleaning, and canning them. I enjoy doing that with my Husband, he's such a big help and besides, he gets all the juice squirting on him when we crush the tomatoes. *LOL* Though once in a while he does get me, too!

We had a ton of cherry tomatoes, so we even picked as many of those as we could and used them, and they actually gave a lot of juice. We only ended up with 9 quarts and 1 pint, but we'd done about 4 quarts and 1 pint before, so that's plenty. We're still catching up on the nearly 40 quarts we did two years ago!

This Thursday is our Texas Roadhouse fundraiser, so I'll b e heading out there. I hope a lot of people get the chance to go out and take their flyers (have to use them in order for us to get 10% of the money spent).

Our DVD/Blueray player keeps stopping the video part in the middle of our movies once in a great while. I took it in once, but now I can't find the receipt for it! I'm going to see if they'll let us return this one and get one that works, with just taking the machine itself in. Took me forever to get the home theater portion up (all the long wires, etc).

We also have a meeting next Monday, so I have to get those papers ready to go; and send an email to our grant writer regarding another grant we could get. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Have a wonderful day, and never forget to share a smile, you never know whose life you may save. emoticon

Oh my, there is little better in life than home grown fresh or canned tomatoes. I know you will enjoy each and every jar. I love tomatoes of every variety, size and color. You are fortunate to have a spouse who likes to work with you to do your canning.

Good luck with getting another VCR to replace your unreliable one. Some stores are good about that kind of thing, so you may be successful.

Good luck with getting your VCR repaired! I'm impressed with your tomato harvest, I just have 3 plants on my porch

Wow! How many tomato plants do ypu have? We just started a 20x25 plot in a New York City community garden where we plant loads of herbs, greens, melons, cukes, tomatoes, squash and pumpkins. 20x25 is huge by NYC standards!
