My First Whole30 - Day 7

Well I’ve made it through a whole week of the Whole30. And it has been a whole lotta work. Way more dishes for one – I hate dishes!
Anyway, so far, I’m not dead and I haven’t been hankering for anything in particular. So the cravings have been surprisingly low – but then again, I am only through one week. Though I will admit that walking past that snack box filled with chocolate and chips every day at work certainly hasn’t helped matters.
There’s a whole lotta prep work involved in eating on this plan and preplanning for when I know I won’t be at home to whip up a gourmet meal. Finding anything but fruit or nuts on the go for snacks seems close to impossible. I am a little tired of eggs for breakfast and I miss cereal and oatmeal, haha. The coffee hasn’t been a problem – coconut milk has been a fine substitute.
I’ve tried some new recipes and found some good stuff, a few good dressings etc. But nothing I’m over the moon about – sufficient to work for a few weeks though.
My mom is doing it with me so that is both good and bad. Good in that I have someone to share new recipes or information or tips and bad in that she’s constantly texting me asking if she can eat this, that or the other thing.
Nothing mind blowing has come from the first week, I don’t know if I should expect something. I will admit to feeling like I have a little more energy – except for today when I woke up at 5:15 and couldn’t get back to sleep because I accidentally started thinking about work and then decided to just go in and do the things that were on my mind so they wouldn’t be on my mind anymore. So now I’m at mid-day and I’m kinda dragging cause I missed an hour and a half of sleep.
I’m going to spend my lunch hour planning the week out now – because it’s Monday and I really haven’t planned the week yet. And that’s usually when disaster happens. Amiright!?
