Beck Trek - Chapter 6 - Day 14 - Plan for Tomorrow (EVERY day)

Thursday, September 10, 2015

I'm so grateful for the sparkpeople food tracker. It makes this part so easy. You can put food into your tracker before you eat it...look at it, think about it, tweak it...and then decide if it fits well into your plan.

I couldn't imagine trying to do this without a food tracker like the one here on sparkpeople.

My food tracking mantra for when the scale creeps up a little is "Can't track it, don't eat it." This keeps me away from things that are too complicated to track like calorie laden casseroles and foods with lots of ingredients.

Food tracking is so important if you want to lose weight. I can't emphasize that enough. You think you know how much you are eating, but if you aren't tracking it, you don't really know.

Beck addresses all the sabotaging thoughts for not writing a food plan...and I've made my share of excuses...especially on the weekends when I don't want to be bothered with it. When my weight goes up, food tracking on the weekends is the one thing that stands between me and getting the scale back to its happy place. And even after 7 years of maintenance...I still rebel against doing it. But when I finally get over myself, and start tracking, the scale moves.

So get over yourself...and DO IT!

    Have a Great Weekend...

It is tough when it is casseroles, etc.
I tend to not make that kind of comfort stuff anymore.

I had a BLT wrap yesterday at the bar & I ended up just quickly tracking a BLT sandwich & adding the Avocado on side, so that I at least have something similar down.
(I am sure bread is more than the un-fried corn tortilla wrapper I had)

emoticon though I don't track. I rebel myself to do so. If I have to go back to tracking, I would do it, not gladly, but I would. I just can't seem to accept to be tracking for all my life, seems unnatural to me (jmho). But I do agree is the best tool ever to get your weight down (don't get me wrong emoticon )

We are super lucky to have SP overall emoticon

Also love the tracker. And the exercise log.

Your point here about simple foods is really making me think. Fresh fruits and veggies. Fresh fish. Organic free range chicken. Simple uncomplicated and natural ingredients. Delicious in and of themselves. Hard to improve on those. Easy to track for sure. And there are lots of other benefits to keeping it simple. With fresh and natural there is not much sense of deprivation that I have had on other eating plans. Great perspective. Thanks!
