The Scale...

Currently I don't have a scale, and honestly I'm terrified to buy one. The last time I weighed myself was the beginning of May, and I was up to 195lbs. That's the heaviest I've ever been. To my knowledge at least. I'm worried I may have gained more weight after we moved. Part of my wants to buy a scale to see where I am and measure my progress. But the other part of my is so nervous to see where I'm at right now. I know there are ways to track my progress without a scale, like measuring body parts and clothes getting looser, so I think I could do this without a scale. How bout you guys? Do any of you do this without a scale? For those of you who do use a scale, how often do you use it?

    I have a scale, and I weigh myself regularly, like every couple days. But I don't worry too much about the number. I'm more interested in how far I can run, how much I can lift, and those things add pounds even if the waist is shrinking. So I really measure by pants size :)

    I understand the fear in not wanting to see the actual number on the scale, but I think it's a great place to start. I usually try to weigh in once or twice a week. It helps to keep me on track by knowing what I weigh.

    I went without a scale for a while, because I had become so obsessed with mine I was weighing several times a day... Now I weigh almost daily. I find that helps to motivate me to keep thinking about making healty choices.
