Good old habits

Sometimes habits are good to get away from . . . but sometimes not.

When I read SparkPeople's article about the Power of 10 -- how 10 minutes of movement makes a difference -- it discussed ways of turning 'down time' into MOVE it time.

I found that I spent a lot of time sitting on my bottom while talking on the phone. So, I finally got myself into the habit of grabbing the phone and stepping on the elliptical. (Altho there were times I had to explain the reason for my heaving breathing.)

Now that my new treadmill is all set up and broken in, I actually find that I'm looking forward to spending time with it.

Without feeling any pressure of setting any land speed records . . . . I can walk and talk as long as I want to.

This morning I did 22 minutes before I knew it. Yes, my sister wanted to know if she was interrupting anything . . . . but she laughed with me when I told her I was on the treadmill.

Aren't there times in your busy day that you can fit in some MOVE IT minutes?

Maybe, just walking around your house or office. If you can't do that, pick up a can of green beans and do some light weights..... engage your imagination.

Where there's a will, there's a way . . . and your body will thank you for it!
