Feeling Better, Thanks for the Support!!!

Saturday, September 05, 2015

Peanut seems to be coming out of her crisis which automatically makes me feel better. We carried her in to the vet as soon as I could get out of school yesterday for Kenalog/Dexamethasone and today the welts have just about gone. Her poor little ears are raw looking but she ate and played a little. Knowing I had to make the hundred mile trip to get special food for her, I geared up this morning before I left and cleaned the kitchen, my bathroom and bedroom, and got a load of laundry ready to run in the morning. It was nearly 11 before I left so Tyler was hot and busy by the time I got there. Petco had the food she needed plus a new t-shirt and a new vest harness. It looks as though she will have to wear the shirts outside until winter. It's so bizarre because her fat stubby little sister has thick skin and a double coat, yet Peanut is thin-skinned with a fine coat.

Needless to say, I am sore as can be from climbing in and out of the truck, and traffic was murderous. Everyone who lives in Tyler, population 100K+, was at the lake and everyone from everywhere else was in Tyler. LOL I got to Adventures in Learning for a fraction bingo and some reading posters, then headed back home. About halfway, at aforesaid lake, I stopped at Brookshire's grocery and bought some salad fixings and some steaks to grill Monday. Plus a rotisserie chicken for supper. I have the salad made and need to get some iced tea started. Got a big book stack going for tomorrow.

Thanks y'all. I really was down on things.

Those of us who live away from major metropolitan areas really FEEL it when something like this comes up! We live about 3 hours from Denver; although there is a Petco about 90 minutes away there are lots of other stores we can only find in Denver. When we go it is an EVENT!

So glad things are on the upswing for both you and Peanut!! I'm sure you are relieved, too. Have a great weekend, Lynn, and enjoy that steak on the grill!!

How unfortunate that it takes an hour to drive to Petco. I should be very grateful that I live very close to one.
