Making Adaptations for Consistency Sake

Week 3 Day 3 of the Couch to 5K Your Way program. Tonight was to be the final "run" of walk/jog intervals. It rained on and off all day and finally cleared around 6:30. As I headed out the door for the track I realized that I had not charged my phone and the red low battery indicator was flashing. There was no way I was going to make it through a 40 minute interval workout using my phone app. So, I grabbed a small kitchen timer that I keep on my fridge (it is magnetic).

I figured I was to run 8 intervals of 1 min. walking and 4 mins. jogging so I walked a lap to warm up and set the timer for 33 minutes (I threw an extra one in for good measure). I made it and walked about two laps+ to cool down. It was actually easier than the run jog intervals that the program prescribes and that concerns me a tad, but sticking with "running" 3x per week is what was most important for me tonight.

Zumba starts tomorrow - YEA!!! 3 songs in and I am all smiles. Time will tell how it works as my cross-training activity.
