I meant to blog about this time last week, but I got busy and forgot! So, here I am to update on my experience thus far with my personal trainer.
It's killing me! But I love it. We had our 3rd session yesterday and I'm sore today, but nothing like I was last week. Friday and Saturday I could hardly walk... but I know that I was so far out of shape I would have been that way with an easy workout. We got our cardio plan and nutrition plan and we are working hard to make it all happen!
I'm really hoping for some big results out of this. For the price we are paying, we are really trying to do everything we can to get the most benefit. I also think we are learning a lot that we can use for later on down the road (such as the supplements she recommended we start on and best protein powders). I've already decided that the last few weeks of training I'm going to ask them to help me come up with just a few workouts that I can do at home or at another gym without having to use 100 different pieces of equipment.
Speaking of another gym, my husband recently found out something that I'm really excited to look into. Apparently through his health insurance, we can pay just $25/ea every month, directly out of his paychecks, for gym memberships to every major gym in the area (LA Fitness, YMCA, Anytime Fitness, etc). I am so excited! I don't love the gym that is closest to our house because it is small and doesn't have all of the equipment I like to use, but it would be nice to be able to ride my bike there, workout, then ride back home. This option would give me the flexibility to use whatever gym suits my needs that day! Not to mention, no gym memberships are under $30/mo, much less EVERY gym for under that!
So, lots of good things happening here. Seeing some changes in my body are what I'm waiting for now! The scale is slowly bumping down a little bit, but I'm not super focused on that.
Oh, and as far as my goals go:
Get my 5k steps in each day - I didn't hit my steps on Monday, but I'm 10/11 right now. The treadmill is on the to-do list for tonight.
Only splurge on Saturday's (When we go to the college football games) -
Give 110% at training -
