Companions on the journey

I realize that right now I am very focused on this journey of change in my life. I am excited about new recipes. I am wonderstruck that I can walk a whole mile. I am losing weight that wouldn't come off even when I had my RNY gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago. I am changing sizes and getting new clothes. I want to talk about this, to enthuse, and to brag a bit. This takes work and I want to talk with people who get it!
I have friends and family who support my efforts and are happy for the results, but they are also a bit envious of the changes and while they are not happy I weigh less than they do, now, They also don't want to join my in the effort to live a bit healthier. Though I have given the Spark People website info to everyone who seemed interested.
All this has made me aware of how precious the Spark People community is. Here I am in the midst of people who know how hard and how worthwhile this journey is. You may not be sitting on the couch with me, but you are climbing up the same mountain. You are not at the same table as I am, but we are facing very similar issues as we sit at our own tables.
I just want to say thank-you to all my companions on this journey! Thanks for the inspiration, for the enthusiasm and for the struggles that remind me I am not alone even in the dark. Thanks for "liking" my efforts, for celebrating my success, and for supporting me in the hard stuff. You are saving my life!
