AFTER SLEEP

Tuesday, August 25, 2015

emoticon emoticon emoticon

I HAD SUCH A FULL DAY LAST WEDNESDAY. VERY emoticon BUT A STORM CAME UP THAT NIGHT.

Our power was knocked out. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Flash flood warnings out.

Lights kept coming on and going off all night long. emoticon

No sleep that night.

Our power was out for two days+

When they got around to work on it all lights went off.

I WAS IN MY ELECTRIC RECLINER AND COULDN'T GET OUT AS MY LEGS WERE UP.

Took two hefty men to get me out of the chair.

Now it is funny, then not so funny

Had a doctor's appointment early the morning after the storm came in.

I went. Found out I had infection in ears.

Have an appointment to see Primary doctor Today Tuesday August 25th so haven't been to sleep yet.

They are working on my shaking, Can hardly eat because of it,

Also type with one hand as can't control the other one.

Takes a long time to chat or blog.

Not complaining, just telling it like it is.

SOME SPOKE OF PARKINSON'S AND OTHERS ESSENTIAL TREMOR WICH RUNS IN FAMI.IES.

I was diagnosed as it being essential tremor. My dad had it, his sister had it, my sister ad it and several of my brothers had it. I took primadone for years and recently changed my medicine to Parkinson's but I have been getting worse. He started me out on low dosage so don't know what he will suggest.

I haven't slept all night.

Hope all are well.

Blessings.

So very sorry for this diagnosis and your recent trials :-(( I hope they can figure out something that will help stop the tremors.. I had terrible ear infections as a baby which lead to significant hearing loss. Hope yours are cured quickly.
Please know I am thing of you and praying for you.

Hoping all was good today at the Dr. office. I had to smile and the imagine of the 3 big hefty guys coming in to help you out of a chair. I can only imagine how frightening it was for you. That storm was a little worse than we had here in Pharr. We were lucky to not lose out electric power. God bless you for typing out a blog for us. It has to be very hard. Let's hope you get a good night's sleep tonight especially if you didn't get any sleep during the day.

Irene, it sounds like the meds for the shaking aren't working, so I pray that your doctor will find an alternative medication that will work better for you. It must have been so frustrating in the recliner, but you have a wonderful sense of humour.

My aunt, the retired nun, deals with essential tremor, so I know it can be frustrating. She has a special mouse for her computer, and it helps a lot.

Irene, that shaking has got to be making things difficult for you, yet you never really complain! You are a brick and I hope they can get that under better control for you.

Oh my, you are going to be very tired today, can you have a nap after being to the doctors??

I am finding these Golden Years are not so golden after all! We should have had them BEFORE we got old!

My husband takes Primidone but once his dosage increases to a certain level he stops eating and loses weight. Now the doctor lowered his Primidone one step to where he was comfortable before and has added Inderal which seems to be giving us a good result. He has to take blood pressure medication anyway so the Inderal is serving in two ways.

The Primidone really did help him; it is just that he can't take too much. He is so pleased to be able to do something like eat soup with a spoon instead of drinking it from a cup.

Hope the doctor comes up with something for you, Irene. Mal sees a neurologist. emoticon

I do hope your doctor can resolve the shaking issue for you Irene. I am imagining how troublesome that could be for you. It's good that you can still blog and keep your friends updated here.

It takes patience and a good sense of humor to grow old and as they say, "" Growing old is not for sissies!"

    Irene,

My family members have the shaking, also and it was diagnosed as Parkinson's Disease. They are on medication and it controls the shaking. I pray that a solution is found for your shaking, so you're able to not only type, but to take care of your bare essentials, too.

    Blessings!

My husband has something called familial essential tremor, Irene. It seems to hit all the men in his family around age 40-50. Anyway I know what difficulty shaking hands can cause. It has been years since he has been able to write but he can use the computer with some difficulty. He has always loved to work with his hands and I think the tremor is one thing that really turned him to gardening. Large muscle tasks are easier for him.

I hope your primary doctor can come up with something that will help. Also hope that the ear infection is clearing.
