Day 267 - Thanks for Coming

Sunday, August 23, 2015

As much as I enjoy entertaining and having company over, it's also nice to think about when they will depart and life can get back to normal. Still, I have a lot to be grateful for this weekend.

For friends that love us and enjoy our company, even if they sap our energy, thank you.

For beautiful scenery and gorgeous vistas to see as we drive around the county, thank you.

For the great wine industry in our county, friendly tasting rooms, and supporting local businesses, thank you.

For the dusty roads we sometimes have to drive on, giving us a reason to wash the car and get some additional exercise, thank you.

For a new boss that is supportive, nurturing, and collaborative, thank you, thank you, thank you.

For making every day a good day, starting today, thank you.

    I smile so big every time I read something about your new job or new boss. I know what it is like to have an awful boss and thus I feel your happiness each time you post something about her.

    I know what you mean about company. I know I look so forward for my son and his family (I think that is the first time I used that phrase) come Labor Day weekend, but we are also happy when they leave. You have so much to be thankful for and it is so nice that you take the time to do that. Knowing where all gifts come form is a thing of beauty! Glad you had a great weekend and hope your week ahead is great as well!

    Ahh gratitude!

    Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
    Count your gains instead of your losses.
    Count your joys instead of your woes;
    Count your friends instead of your foes.
    Count your smiles instead of your tears;
    Count your courage instead of your fears.
    Count your full years instead of your lean;
    Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
    Count your health instead of your wealth;
    Count on God instead of yourself. - Anonymous

    I love the thought of the dusty roads, the lake, the beautiful surroundings.

    Then there is your job, with a supportive and collaborative boss. A good boss is something that a lot of jobs don't have, so you are lucky. They are lucky that you fit into their slot perfectly. I can see you being there for a number of years, enjoying the kids, having great interaction with the staff and teachers, and being fired up to go to work every day. It doesn't get much better than that.

    Then, add in looking and feeling awesome, and you've hit the jackpot.

    I am delighted for you.

    I can't wait until my "company" leaves my house. I have 5 more (long) months, with DD, boyfriend and the cat, and then I am alone again. I will miss my DD, but she will live five minutes away, and she and I are doing great. She has matured and become an adult, instead of a teen with angst. It is a very welcome change.

    You have a wonderful Sunday.

    Spark on.
