Finally using the new computer, and a busy day with errands

Finally got my new computer running! And the problem I thought I had with the old monitor not being compatible with the new computer? Thankfully, it was a much easier ( and way less expensive!) fix than having to buy a new monitor; the tech that helped me when I bought my computer last week said that all I needed was a new cord, which was around $34, so got that plugged when I got back home, and got everything else plugged into the new computer, and in about 5 minutes, I had it online. Even my printer worked without having to do anything special, which really surprised me.
I still have not been able to get my Kindle Fire registered; I need to do that one day when I am in a place that has free wi-fi (I do not have wi-fi at home), but my old Kindle is working just fine with the new computer, and I am once again able to download my books to it. I actually prefer my old Kindle when it comes to reading books vs. the Kindle Fire, much easier on my eyes, so I think I will use the Kindle Fire for the times I am away from home and want to get online. If I'm not able to get any of my books on the Kindle Fire, I'm ok with that, as there are many other things I can use it for.
Been fighting a sinus headache all day, with allergies flaring up, and weather changes coming. Penny picked me up this morning and took me to get my lab work done, then we went to Big Lots, Staples, and Walgreens. It was hot and humid and I think the going back and forth between the air conditioning in the stores then back outside probably didn't help my headache either. Then in the afternoon, I had to go to the bank take care of some business. Since then, I've been staying indoors with the central air, and after taking my 3rd pain pill of the day around 5pm, finally, the headache is starting to ease up a little bit.
Penny helped me out with a couple more projects around the house in between our shopping this morning, and my appointment at the bank. She cleaned the inside of my refrigerator, and cleaned out and organized the cupboard I keep my baking ingredients and other misc. stuff in. It's a deep cupboard, and I can't reach the top shelf of it unless I'm on a stepladder, and my legs just aren't strong enough yet to stand there that long to do it.
I still need to get some groceries this week, but we are going to wait until Wednesday; after the busy day I had today, I think it would be best to have a "stay at home" day for tomorrow.
