I don't know how I missed this! Clinton Anderson is my favorite of all the horse clinicians. MGOOD4X4 is exactly right about his mentors. I was also a No Worries Club member and got the videos, and learned so much from him. I used many of his products he endorsed, especially loved the tie rings. I taught a good many of my horses to stand tied and not pull back with those!
We live only about 30 miles from him, he bought a 250 acre ranch just outside of Stephenville, TX and it is something to see, now that it is complete. He has devoted 50 of those acres to his business (a huge indoor arena, a store, and a lounge area. He has many round pens built just outside the arena, and he has a large obstacle course assembled outside, with every sort of obstacle you could imagine for horses. He also built an RV park, and stalls with runs for people who bring their horses in for clinics.
I used his methods on my young horses and believe me, they worked like a charm! When your horse completes even only the fundamentals, they are obedient and responsive! 1812 days ago
Clinton Anderson often mentions his TWO MENTORS = Gordon McKinlay and Ian Francis. Clinton left his home and went to apprentice for Gordon when he was 15 years old. He learned all his groundwork and colt starting methods from him. When he was 18 he went to work for Ian Francis and learned how to really get your horse soft and supple and how to ride with "feel". I am a No Worries Club member and LOVE his Method for training my horses because IT WORKS!
Feel free to ask me anything about him or his training methods and I will do my best to answer. If I cannot answer correctly, I will take your question to the NWC and get the right answer for you 1886 days ago
