When I think of people that are healthy, it comes from working out and eating right over a long period of time. Some people are naturally prone to be more athletic, this is not a deterrent for me, but a challenge accepted. I am tired of giving up. I'm tired of hiding my body. The progress I have made in this short couple of months has been spectacular. The first photo was about a month before I became serious about my health, May 8. I started working out every day and changing my eating habits June 11. The second photo was taken August 11, with a 17 lb difference.

This week I am seeing a plateau on the scale, but I've been lifting more. I can feel the muscles in my body tightening. I refuse to solely use the scale as a form of measurement, although I will be the first to admit I love seeing the number go down.

Being healthy and having an extra layer of thickness are not mutually exclusive. There are very thin people that are extremely out of shape, and an overweight person you may know can lift more weight, or run farther than you can imagine. No one knows your personal story, your trials and tribulations, or what you are capable of.

Endurance through the tough times proves our character. I refuse to let this plateau kick my butt. I am worth making my health a priority in both what I fuel my body with, and physical activity. The beauty of this life is each day is a new beginning. If you binged yesterday, pick up your healthy habits today. We are worth it.

    You've done a great job! I know the plateau can be difficult, but at least it is only temporary. Congratulations on your wonderful success and loss of 17 pounds. I'm celebrating with you! emoticon

    Very well said! The difference in your pictures is huge! It isn't all about the number on the scale, I've got a sort of neutral mindset about the scale (most of the time) but I agree it is super fun to see the number going down.

    My sister says the same thing. Being overweight is one thing. Not being physically fit is another. Best wishes
