Why is it always August?

You may have noticed I tend to drop off the planet from time to time. Maybe it's a few days, sometimes it's a few months, but sometimes it is a year or more.

I think I have a problem with consistency...I have commitment issues...

Anyway the slightly depressing fact is I have been a spark member for 5 years...and I weigh more now than when I started.

Don't get me wrong, this has nothing to do with Spark, when I use the tools here and actually get off my ass and do what I am supposed to I can loose the weight, I have done it.

Then something happens. Usually work related...sometimes personal or health related and I get completely derailed.

Other things take priority over me.

...and that is so stupid.

Because I really like me.

For whatever reason, in these lapses of caring for me, something happens that slaps me in the face and I realize, I really need to do this.

For me.

And it usually happens in August.

Oh, August. You fantastic month you.

Maybe you can help me with setting goals, because I seem to not be too good with that either.

Maybe you can help me use this site more.

...and blog more, I keep hearing how much it helps.

I will work on a plan, that has some goals in it(that are not scale related)

For now I am grateful:

I have a job
I drove to work in my awesome car that I own
I have this website with just about all the tools and info I could ever need
the sun is shining brightly and it's so nice outside
I am listening to awesome music on my tablet that my wonderful sister got for me for my birthday

and I love me.

and I love you all

    Glad you're setting goals, are you setting some short term action steps too?

    Now, about that consistency thing . . . I personally struggle with that too. Getting better about that, but I think it is related to my reason for making my changes NOW for ME, 'cause otherwise I won't be here for anybody or anything else.

    I also try to stay in the present, in other words don't kick yourself for the past! Hang in there day by day, and we're here with you!

    Welcome back!

    Mostly all of us fluctuate with sparks and online crap in general. Something that might help is joining a team challenge or something-- where you have folks that can help to hold you accountable. One program I found here in sparks is the BLC-- if you go to BLC-ADMIN's spark page you can find deets.
