Yet Another Day 1

Today was Week 1 Day 1 of the SP 5K Your Way program. It seems like my life has been a succession of Day 1's. Here is hoping I am (and working toward my) becoming a runner this time.
I was able to "jump start" this effort while on vacation with friends in Maine a week ago. We decided to hike a series of local trails each morning. I kept pace, but truth be told the fittest member of our group was my best friend's 77 year-old mother-in-law who was sporting a knee brace. Still, we hung in there and I finished vacation feeling stronger than I started.
I think I have some resources that are going to help this stick. 1) friends that are available to help me, 2) a definite workable plan from SP, 3) feeling that it is make it or break it time for my health, and 4) I have the goal of running a specific race at the end of the program. I also spent some time reading through other SP blog posts about novice running success stories and helpful tips. Once again this site has the information that I need to make significant change. My prayer is that I will hold up my end of the equation. Time will tell!
