This is a very interesting blog. CrossFit has been hitting away at Coke and it's connection to Type 2 Diabetes for a while now (while garnering some unfavorable responses), but it has a point. One thing that is pointed out in the movie FED UP is the relationship between health organizations and corporations. This article brings up a prime example of this.

The organization promoted by Coke is supposed to sell the world on the calorie in and calorie out theory. However, as I am learning, our bodies do not treat all calories the same. Calories that come from sugar are easily converted to fat compared to calories that come from protein. So why does this matter? Because Coke wants us to believe that exercise is the problem and not our diet. However, that is not true. If that was true, we wouldn't have an obesity crisis in our country right now. It is the quality of the calories and macros that count more than anything. However, if we become aware and stop eating the processed, sugar laden food/drinks we have been pushed, we would get healthier and a lot of corporations would have problems. However, that is a whole different topic.

What this article is showing the corruption and lack of ethics when it comes to corporations and our so called researchers who influence our dietary guidelines.

Everything in moderation. One Coke a week isn't going to kill anyone-corrupt as they and everyone else are!
