No transfusion today, and computer problems

Well, no blood transfusion today. My hemoglobin only dropped very slightly, from 9.4 to 9.3. So, now we will just wait until I have my weekly CBC on Monday and see where we are at. Maybe the rate at which it had been dropping is starting to slow down now.
Some good news! Penny is back in town for a week or two. She will be staying with my sister, as my house really isn't set up right now to have company overnight. I am going to be busy getting some things done with her tomorrow morning, so in order not to overdo it with my activities, I did my laundry today instead of doing it on Saturday as I normally do for this week.
One of the things we need to do is to take my computer to Staples to a have some problems fixed. About 10 days or so ago, my computer did an automatic update from Windows 8, to Windows 8.1. I was perfectly happy with the Windows 8 that originally came with this computer, but like I said, it updated itself automatically. I had sat down at my computer like I do every morning that day, and it was already in the middle of updating, and there was nothing I could do to stop it (at least nothing that I KNEW of.)
Anyway, I noticed a problem when I went to download some books to my Kindle. I do not have wi-fi, so I download my Kindle books via the USB cord that connects my Kindle to the computer. The computer did not even recognize that my Kindle was connected to it, and nothing I tried to fix it worked. I know the USB cord was not the problem, because I was able to fully charge my Kindle through the computer with it. My camera card from my digital camera will also not work with the new version of Windows. So, with the camera card also not working with it; I am fairly certain the problem is with the Windows update and not my Kindle.
I know last week, I promised to post a blog on Sunday about finding something good in every day, but I'm not sure if Staples will be able to get my computer back to me tomorrow after I drop it off, or if it's something that might take a day or two. My desktop computer is my only access to the internet, so if you don't see me on Spark for a few days, it's because I'm not able to get online. I will still post that blog that I promised, it might just be a few days late.
