Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
It is war! Frank brought home three bags of cookies. As Jill looked at them on the table in front of her, they almost made her cry. Why couldn't she just ignore them? It was as if they had some kind of magical spell over her. Closing her eyes didn't help. Neither did putting them in the freezer; she still knew they were there. She was determined to resist their pull, but was she really strong enough? Yes, she learned a long time ago that there would be people in her life that would try to sabotage her weight loss efforts. That is where coming up with a game plan or strategies always helps. Giving them away to the local shelter, the neighbors, taking them to church or even soaking them in the sink works. It is better to waste them than to have them on your waist. When the temptations get to be too much, we need to call on the Lord. In the midst of our stiffest challenges, He will truly save us.
Today's thought: I need God to save me from myself!
