Family Vacation Recap
Wednesday, August 05, 2015
I was tickled to have a "perfect attendance in July" trophy waiting for me! I spent 4 days up north, with my family... no internet; no cell reception. It was pretty blissful actually. We did a lot of outdoorsy stuff because all the kids (nieces included) are old enough this year to be more active. We canoed, we spent 7 hours running around a waterpark (and I played with my kids a good chunk of that--rather than sitting around watching from a chair)... and my husband and I hiked the property (a good 2 hour hike); before taking our kids on an 8 mile bike ride with Grandpa. It was GREAT.
The only (minor) drawback was not having control over meals. I was prepared for it, and did a pretty good job. I had my normal breakfast option packed with me--perfect start to each day. I did not drink enough water (hydrating back up today); and did not eat as many veggies as I would have at home... and I enjoyed a few treats. (Ice cream!!) But, without actually tracking, I did my best to make good choices and balance my treats with saying "no" to some things.
Weighing in this morning (Wednesdays are my weigh in days weekly); I didn't lose... and I didn't gain. I count that as a big victory!
Excited to get back to my preferred routine, which includes EXERCISE tonight.
