Lower Your Stress Level

Saturday, August 01, 2015

As much as I would love to live a stress free existence, I know that it is impossible. I plan to minimize the effects of stress by trying to change my response to outside stressors. Chronic stress causes so much damage to our mental and physical health, makes me grouchy and makes my immune system become very overactive; not doing the job it was designed for, but causing my arthritis to go nuts.
I already work hard on this, but this is a timely reminder, as I am slap dab in my second busiest week of the year. I have become a time manager on steroids at the moment, I'm busy I have started scheduling everything on my calendar, just to make sure that everything gets done.
1.Make my personal boundaries clear to everyone, I need to say 'NO' more and not feel guilty. This can be difficult but it is Alex's Birthday on Monday and have now entered the baking, icing, preparing, decorating and wrapping mode.
2.Time management for sanity. I have scheduled all of my exercise over the next couple of days, early mornings before the boys and Chris are awake. Even though I'm time poor, exercise helps me relax, focus and reduce the madness.
3.Meditation - like exercising, is a constant in my life it gives me clarity, focus and serenity. I am using guided meditations (Kelly Howell) at the moment as I find that my mind wanders less.

Breathing, I have been focused on this and to be honest it really works, I am now going to do this daily.

I hope wherever you are in the world that you have a happy and stress free day!
