Day 162 of the 'Q' - Summer is a murderer...

Thursday, July 30, 2015

I was all excited for summer. Plenty of time to work out, eat when I needed to, see my friends, do what I wanted. No problem. I have a plan!

I get up at 4:30 still. I sit right back on the couch, and don't usually get back up. My excuse now is waiting for the sun to come up. (Which is important to the visual aspect of running, as I need to see where I am going, but isn't helpful in that I get up 2 hours before the sun comes up.) It also doesn't help that NC summers are hot 24/7. You wake up at 80, climb to 100, and get back down to 90. And now that I've run outside, the treadmill is almost unbearable.

Summer has absolutely murdered all the motivation I had during school. I don't want to lose it. It is really hard to hold onto the idea that I have to be in this for the long run. (haha, pun...) I find myself making crappy diet choices, choosing not to workout... I really just want to go back to work. I'm not actually a big fan of summer vacation as it is. Who in the world needs to have months off at a time? A couple weeks at a time, spread throughout the year is good. Not a problem.

Hurry up August, so I can wish for it to be summer again.

What about some temp work to keep you active and out of temptation? Temp agencies hire for as little as a day at a time, so you just tell them what you can do and what time you have available. Heck, you can even sign up for physical work, and get paid while you work out!
