I am so happy about my decision of reporting my leave. I was schedule to go to Qc one month ago, unfortunately/or very fortunately that did not happen because I had to replace someone at work. So I postponed my leave - best decision because at this time I have a lot less to worry about and I was able to spend time at my sister without checking work related emails!
Second good decisions - going by train! Barrie - Quebec City takes about 9-10 hours of driving. That is not so bad however the train is by far more relaxing. It takes about 12 hours door to door but you got to enjoy the scenery, write a blog and read a book!
- At the terminal in Toronto, a girl was playing the piano - I used to play, not as good as she does! I packed a lunch so I knew I would not have to eat fast food all day long. At the terminal in Montreal (where I had to make another connection, I decided to opt for the falafel and salad plate (beets, cole slaw, taboule and hummus with a small pita bread).
Do I need to say that I was very happy to see Emma! (I think the last time I saw her was in March...) We went to the local brewery (yeah, beer again - not good for my diet
but I don't get
with a little tasting plateau... )
The next day, we just chill ! and laugh...
*** It is not everyday that we get to be together... Actually I was very happy to know that my sister took my daughter to the lake to visit my mom last week
We went last year for a week and we had a very good time. Maggie, my youngest could not travel with me, she had to stay in Barrie to finish her coop program and start her new job!!! She is a "runner-server" at the Golf club.
- Very proud of her.
... so having nothing planned is also a good plan!
We also made one of our favorite cake - Chestnut cake with espresso whip cream
That was the only piece left - I took the picture just in time before the second serving!
The next day was very relax. I made currant and raspberry jam (hand picked from the garden) and I went for dinner with Emma and her boyfriend after her day at work.
I like to see her happy!
My dinner was yummi!- Asian salad (with cashew, shrimps, chicken, rice vermicelli and salad)...
and took the left over for lunch the next day for the return trip.
Goal sitrep -
Food - No binge !!! I was tempted last night but kept busy and had plain yogurt with all-bran and maple syrup for the sweet and crunchy feel! I ate pretty good overall, considering that I had to eat out and that I was spending time with my family.
Exercise - Need to move! Sitting is very hard - much harder than walking around.
Did I mentioned that child pose is a challenge now?
I practiced my yin yoga everyday...
Meditation .... Quiet the mind - it is easier to be positive when you look for the positive. Om Mani Padme Hum - No mud, no lotus! This is my favorite mantra.

Only a couple of days at home in transit before we are on our way to Manitoba to visit my in-laws. LONG drive it will be - 24 hours...
Hobby - yeah, hobby!!! I decided to read ... not for school, just for fun. I read a couple of books recently on food and eating. Now reading "Happier at Home" - Gretchen Rubin. I think I will write my own "Happier at Home" blog as I read her book... That will be my inspiration. She starts in September as the school year begins. Convenient - I am about to start a new school year too!
Until then, I want to finish my recap of the recent trips we did... That is a good way to keep my fingers occupied and away from a binge!
