This weeks blood counts, lunch out, and help with yard work

I was just thinking last night as I was waiting for my lab report to show up online; I await my blood counts each week like some people wait to see what the lottery numbers are, LOL.
But the good news is, my white counts are up! Still below normal, but up high enough that I don't have to wear a surgical mask when I leave the house. Platelets are recovering nicely too; they are all the way up to 65 now! (They were down to 10 before the platelet transfusion I had on the 17th.) Hemoglobin is down a bit; 10 this week, where it had been 11.8 last week, but that's pretty much what I had expected. I think maybe that my body is not quite recovered from the Ibrance side effects even though I've been off from it for 2 weeks now.
I heard from my volunteer driver who is taking me to my oncologist appointment on Thursday. He called me yesterday, and it turns out, he lives right in my neighborhood, which is great, because it will make it easier for him to find my place, since I'm not good at giving driving directions. I'm a little anxious about riding with someone I don't know; it's not a safety issue, I know the volunteers are carefully screened. It's just with my shyness, sometimes it's hard for me to make small talk, but I'm sure it will ok. And I'm sure he wouldn't be a volunteer either if he weren't a "people person."
My cousin Patty is from Massachusetts is here making her once a year family visits in Michigan. Today, she and the cousin she is staying with treated my sister and I to Applebees for lunch. I was glad I was feeling well enough to do that today; if I were still on the Ibrance, I doubt that I would have had the energy for it.
It's hot today too, last time I checked the temps online, it was 85F with a heat index of 91F. I know some parts of the country are a lot hotter, but this is more than I am use to, and with my health issues, I get to feeling a little short of breath if I'm outside too long. I'm thankful to have central air though; at least when I am inside I am comfortable. Tomorrow it's supposed to be cooler, but more humid.
We really need some rain, but my lawn still needed mowing because somehow, the weeds always grow, lol. My dear friend Angel mowed my yard this afternoon. She brought her son and daughter with her, they are around 8-10 years old, and they each brought one of their friends. While she was mowing, they raked the yard and pulled weeds. They also each took a turn with the mower; I don't think they had seen a push mower before and I think it looked like fun; I know when I was a kid I had an aunt that had a push mower and I thought at that age, it looked like fun too. The problem was that my aunt would let her grass get about a foot tall before she cut it, LOL, so of course, it was much harder to mow then. I'm thankful I have a tiny yard, so that no one was out in the heat for too long, and like the Amish say, many hands make light work.
I felt bad I didn't have any treats on hand for company, then I remembered I had a box of Outshine juice bars in the freezer that I offered the kids; the look on their faces when I passed them out made my day! I'm going to have to have to remember to keep some stocked in the freezer for next time.
