Georgetown, KY - long run of the week

Sunday, July 26, 2015

Well, I wanted to blog last night but I fell asleep before getting to it. Yesterday, I was driving for almost 11 hours. When I finally pulled into a truck stop, it was 1030PM. After getting changed and stretching, I started my long run of the week around 11 PM. I had to do 7 miles. It was going really well and I felt great. It was dark and running along a busy road was not all that great. About 1.5 miles into it, I felt a sharp pain in my left calf. I stretched it and it felt a little better. I made the 7 miles with very little problem except for my calf. Today is a cross train day so I decided to do some light stretch and give my calf a break. It is really sore today. I iced it last night and tomorrow is a rest day from training. Hopefully Tuesday it will be all better. The build of miles had begun again. I bought some resistance bands today since I am unable to get to the gym. I am going to try and work them into my workout routine somehow. Most free time driving a truck is spent doing laundry, getting a shower, etc. there really is not much free time just for yourself. I can't wait to get home Aug 7th. I miss my little girls sooooooo much.

7 miles...way to go! Sounds like you have a good fitness system set up. What's your goal distance?

Are you in training for something - since you are building your mileage up again?

Congrats on running at the end of what sounds like a super long day! I definitely would have put it off....

I'm just getting back into a training program myself and had my first good run this morning. It'll be nice to get back into the swing of things.

    Good luck with the calf.
