July 23- Kicking the Habit

I have drank Mt. Dew on a daily basis for the majority of the last 20 years. I don't like coffee, so a can of soda is generally how I've always started my day. Last week, my husband pointed out the numbers to me. Just by quitting my daily soda habit and replacing it with green tea, I could lose nearly 20 pounds over the course of a year. And that's not even taking into account the numerous health benefits of switching from chemical and sugar laden soda to anti-oxidant rich, natural tea.
I ordered some tasty green tea options (Harney & Sons Citron Green & Tropical Green), left soda off of my shopping list (the financial savings are another benefit!), and made the switch starting Monday. So far so good, though I do miss my soda on my way to work, the tea is delicious and I don't think it will take long to make this a permanent habit!
