The old Singer

One summer, Many years ago, my mother taught me how to sew on "the old Singer".
I loved using my feet to try to keep the machine moving forward at an even clip. My mother was a good seamstress, and eventually, all my projects ended up being finished by her.
Time went on, and I bought my own machine, and sewed quilts for my sons, with her help, of course.
I came up with the ideas, and still, my mom did most of the work. Then my mom turned 85, and started slowing down. Her eyesight wasn't quite as good, and I started taking on the bulk of the project work. I started making dresses for baby Lina, and my Mom is making the bags to go with the dresses.
I keep remembering that old Singer, and the lessons that I learned on her. I wish that I had her now.
