Water! Eep!

Sunday, July 12, 2015

So it's been a very challenging week. The thing that has really gone poorly is getting enough WATER!

Surgery on the gums/jaw leaves you with a swollen, puffy face and a bad taste in your mouth. Reasonable enough that the first couple of days I was sipping a bit of iced tea and that's it. But I have GOT to get back into this habit.

Why? (It's not one that I've ever taken particularly seriously in any of my past weight loss efforts.)

1. It fills me up and KEEPS me full.
2. It's amazing for sore muscles!
3. I eat less crap when I'm focused on getting my water in.
4. I retain less. And it's that certain time of month so I could use all the help I can get in that department.

Also, I ate crappy last night. I had my son and a buddy of his for the day (my husband and daughter went to Kyuki-Do Camp together)... and I took them out for ice cream, to the movie, to the pool and to McDonald's. And the movie was smack dab in the middle of the dinner hour. I really could have done worse. I had a cone. Alright, a fabulous lemon soft serve cone dipped in cherry-flavored shellack. (At least I thoroughly enjoyed it!) At the movies I snitched a handful of their M&Ms. At McDonald's a drank a diet Coke and ate half of my little guy's french fries. (And after we got home, I heated up the leftover pork loin in the fridge for my "dinner.")

So yeah. Really, it could have been worse. Plus, I managed a jog yesterday! (Felt awesome!)

So, rather than beat myself up about eating like a first grader for an afternoon... I'm going to move on, focus on today, get the remaining cookies (bought for their lunch yesterday) OUT of my house... ;)

AND DRINK MY WATER!

emoticon I feel much better when I get my water in. It sounds like you're recovering quickly, I'm sure you'll be back in the game 100%! Great job not going overboard, and thoroughly enjoying that very yummy sounding cone emoticon

I drink a lot of water, usually bring several 24 oz water bottles where ever I go, plus drink glasses of water with each meal, it does help you feel full but also helps your digestion, and skin.
