“My troops may fail to take a position, but are never driven from one!”
– General Thomas Stonewall Jackson

The message for us is this: we have chosen to start something important! We can choose to let circumstances bring us down or we can stand and fight.

I choose to fight!

    Ahem.

    I think we all (in the US) get caught up in the war metaphor, all too often.

    The real model elements that seem to work:

    * most effectively
    * for the greatest number of folks
    * for long-term behavioral change

    are:

    * commitment to one's self.
    * commitment to beginning, creating, adjusting and sustaining a long-term program of:
    . + goals
    . + objectives
    . + observation
    . + education
    . + measurement
    . + tracking
    . + adjustment

    Strength and victory come as result of this approach, not as the start of it.

    YMMV
