Day 1: WBBC

Today is the official start of Worlds Best Boot Camp! I am excited and nervous. It is going to mean lots of changes but sometimes that is what it takes to get results. I am still super sore but I got my squats done with the help of some music and counting down instead of counting up. We got the first email concerning nutrition today and it is as I suspected the Paleo diet. While I will adhere to the plan for the next 6 weeks because it is a part of the boot camp, I am not sure I will continue to strictly adhere to it after. It isn't that it's not a good diet or anything it just that the word restriction is used an awful lot in the little bit of research I've done about it. I will have to say though that in the food list it said foods to avoid not restricted foods. I know that when trying to be healthy there are foods that should be avoided and I like that word a little better than restricted. It's all in the mind set.

I truly want to see results in the next 6 weeks and the only way I can is to do as they say. If this gets my sugars down and in turn lowers my A1C than it is a gain and well worth trying to continue for the long term. Hubby even said he would do the nutrition part with me so that is very exciting.

We are starting off with a challenge with it being the week of 4th of July. My family has a get together every year and of course it is BBQ with all the trimmings and lots of desserts. I have a cousin who tries to make the most delectable bad for you desserts possible. Last year it was a cake that started with ice cream sandwiches on the bottom and I think also contained oreo cookies. At one time my mouth would water over that but not so much now. My tastes have really changed over the years and that is entirely way too sweet for me now! All we can do is go in prepared that there is going to be temptation readily available there and hopefully with a united front we can overcome those obstacles. I am going to do some research and make something healthy/Paleo friendly to take so there is at least one think there we can eat!

Well my eyelids are heavy and sleep is calling, so I will see you tomorrow!
