It is a very hard journey, but you have to remember it is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change. I think the biggest things I have learned are to

1)follow the nutritional recommendations of SP
    2) Read Labels
    3) Weigh my food like one of those food snobs I never wanted to be
    4) stay consistent with exercise
    5) No cheat days this is a lifestyle change not a diet (Have I said that already?)
    6) The scale is a tool not your friend. Pick a day of the week and way once first thing in the morning on that day. Record it in SP
    7) Develop a routine. Only buy and eat foods that fit your lifestyle.
    8) Plan and execute. Plan your life and live the plan.

I don't know if this sounds extreme or not. Its the basics of what I do and my success is in my actions as well as my words.

    Good Luck.

    I sent you a Spark Mail :)

Also, our You Are Not Alone team is starting a Lose 5 Pounds In July Challenge Group next week on Wed July 1st if you would like to join in. Might help to get you going. You can find it on our team page under the Health And Nutrition Forum. Click on "More Topics" to see it. We do one each month and sometimes a new month with a fresh start is what we need to keep going. The group is for support, encouragement, inspiration, accountability and friendship. Not a challenge against each other, but against our ourselves to be healthier at the end than when we start. You are welcome to join in!

You can do this, get refocused and keep going. Don't give into the lies of discouragement and failure because they are not true. It is an accomplishment just to realize where you are at and the changes you need to make. The next step is making the choices you need to change it. I am cheering you on!

Wish I knew...I've seemed to have lost my motivation and I've been at it for awhile.

As far as exercise, getting started is my hardest part. Once I start walking, I don't want to stop.
Eating is my downfall. I'll do good for a few days, then start eating back everything I've worked off. Then I feel bad and irritated at myself and have a hard time getting out of the slump.

    Wish you best of luck.
