Rule 11: enjoy the little things.

A million years ago I signed up for a website called Weight Commander. A man, on his own weight loss journey, came up with a program where you enter your weight, and it charts it. Very simple, very straightforward. It has links and tips and hints and a panic button when you think all hope is lost. I've used it for years, and watched the little graph line go up and down and up and down and up and down... but not any more. :) For the last four months, that little graph line has been steadily moving DOWN. I jumped on the scale this morning and was pleased to see another half pound gone. I'll be honest. I get all my steps in at work and don't do any extra exercise. All I've been doing is paying attention to what I eat and drink. I haven't denied myself, just made better choices. I haven't stopped eating out at restaurants. But there it is. Slowly but surely moving in a downward direction. :) This tells me that I am on the right track. Even though I'm not doing every last thing I can to rid myself of the extra weight, it's still going down.
Sheesh, imagine how things would go if I DID do everything I could.
Half a pound of week without effort is encouraging.
Now time to apply the effort and see what happens.
My soft goal's due date is Halloween. A few halloweens ago I was at 165 pounds and I had these lovely cheekbones and I looked smokin' hawt in my costume. So even if I miss my goal by a bit I'll still be doing great, imho.
I put a bit of dry-erase posterboard on my visual board and wrote "19 weeks to Halloween!" It feels far away, but with how swiftly the days are passing it will be here before I know it... I should get started on my costume.
Speaking of, if I stay on track my Italian Ren gown will fit properly again once it's time to go to the Ren fest. I just need a belt, a snood, and some kind of purse option... and to find someone who is well versed enough in early 16th century Italy to provide me with some pictures/diagrams of appropriate belts/snoods/purse options of that time. *lol*
But there we are. :) Go me, half a pound at a time.
