What It Takes Is Not Boring at All

Outside of Spark I don't talk much about weight or eating (just cooking, LOL!). Since we are all 'at it,' Spark is a safe place to vent and smile, complain and celebrate this particular road. So much diet talk away from here is about fad diets or how folks 'should diet,' etc. and frankly the subject I spend so much time on here, bores me in casual conversation.
I make exceptions when someone asks me what I do to maintain. I tell them I use the fitness site SparkPeople. I know that doesn't begin to describe all the little things we learn to do over time on Spark to lose and maintain healthy life styles though. Describing all of THAT is a pretty big conversation and I notice folks kind of nod off or say they just wouldn't want to do all of that.
I figure that once I found out what it takes for me to lose and maintain via Spark that's the deal for me. That's what I'm responsible for if I am to be at a healthy weight. So even though it may sound ho hum (track, be active, watch portion size, be consistent....yada, yada, yada) it is simply WHAT IT TAKES.
And when 'what it takes' is harder some days than others I have wonderful Spark friends to look to for support. And when 'what it takes' is working well, I have wonderful Spark friends to say, "Hey, that's great." And when I need inspiration I can come here, look around and find wonderful models of success and struggle. We're sweatin' it together here, and that's grand and not boring at all!
