"the lines run deep, you know," (samskaras)

A poem I wrote on Friday:
remember the day
the coolness under the tall pines
you pointed to a red-headed woodpecker
sitting on top of a pole
and I chose to steer through the gates
the lines run deep you know...
...I whispered my intent
choosing not to shout from the stage
not making a show of it
but drawing close
wrapping my arm around
the time spent
under the old ones,
the oak trees is essential
through a critical time.
Note: I'm watching my SELF move through this critical time. In the index of "The Wisdom of Yoga: A Seeker's Guide to Extraordinary Living," Stephen Cope uses the words, "Subliminal Activators" in parentheses after the word, Samskara.
I believe these are more than mere triggers, for it is the attachment to the deep hurt, the lines of samskaras that are laid down in my fascia, my connective tissue that I am looking at during this critical time in my ability to lose weight.
