Camping Trip.

Sunday, June 07, 2015

My kids and I did go camping up by Lake Tahoe this weekend and Saturday afternoon, we began hearing thunderclaps off in the distance. Soon they were closer and louder then suddenly the sky darkened, the lightening flashed, and the thunder roared and it began pouring buckets of rain then it hailed for about 10 minutes. The rain poured down for at least 20 minutes and little rivers formed all around us. I thought we were going to have a flash flood, but then it eased up and slowly tapered off.

We were going to have my GD's 14th birthday party and had the table decorated and the balloons and crepe paper ready to hang when the rain began. Everything got soaked and we ran around trying to get everything out of the rain, but we all were soaked and freezing.

Afterwards, my SIL bbq'd ribs and chicken and corn on the cob and we all ate and huddled under their awning and in their travel trailer. All the rest of us only had tents and mine was missing the cover over the top, so I had to pull everything out of my tent and throw it in my car.

I had a great time but was so wet and now had no where to sleep, so I came home last night. It was sure something to see and to experience though!
