WARNING: RANT AHEAD
Did you click my blog because of the title? I really hate internet marketing, especially when it comes to weight loss products. It makes me angry to see “That one weird trick” or “Miracle product doctors don’t want you to know about” because this discounts both a healthy lifestyle and the advice of your physician. I’m embarrassed for these ::ahem:: companies. To be reduced to trickery to sell a product is pretty ridiculous and pretty much the lowest of the low. And the fact that they specifically prey on women with low self-esteem, steal photos from Facebook (and even Sparkpages), just all of the products are garbage and more than likely come with health risks that are just not worth it. I promise you, garcinia cambogia isn’t going to do squat except raise your heart rate. And if you’re like me and obese and already at risk for heart disease, it’s just not worth taking the chance. I promise that whatever claims these products make are false hopes and also nothing you couldn’t do in a much healthier way (diet and exercise). Don’t fall for the traps of Plexus, Green Coffee Beans and definitely none of the items that “Dr. OZ” is hawking. Just. Not. Worth. It. Even if you lose some weight, it's more than likely not going to "stick" because you haven't made the lifestyle change that is necessary for long-term success. Now I'm not a doctor, so you should probably consult yours (especially if you're actually considering one of those products!)
Ok, rant over. So anyway, I’ve got exactly 3 weeks to go and I’m just about halfway to my mini-goal of 11lbs. I gave myself until June 25th (hence the vacation countdown) and so far I am down 5 of the 11 pounds I want to lose. That puts me at a rate of 2lbs a week to meet my goal. Now I know that is doable, but I ALSO know it’s going to be really rough. Maybe you can relate to this, but I know when I try to be really strict is usually when I fall apart. This time around I am not going to be so hard on myself and just be okay with giving it my best shot. I have to because previous attempts at rigid rules have backfired horribly. Let’s call it “learning from my mistakes”.
Until next time…. Good luck with your goals and be your best self!
