less is more

I have this place I can hike to or cycle there it is a wooden bench and a cross. I like to go there and meditate, pray and reflect. Behind the cross is a river and sometime there is so much going on in my mind that until the moment I start to meditate I don't hear the river. When I do hear the river I become astounded like wow is there really that much going on upstairs keeping me from noticing the simple pleasures of life. One day recently while meditating something came over me and I believe in God, Jesus Christ. I accepted Christ as my saviour many years ago now. Most recently I just uttered God I was created in your image; You werent created in my image. You know whats best for me and please let me be in your image. As the days expanded I just have been plugging away at that thought. I have been saved for many years now this really shouldn't be an epiphany but here it is spiritual growth. I am finally saying less of me God more of you.

Nothing makes me appreciate the "Greatness" of our Almighty God like nature does. I remind my children often when they comment on someone's appearance that we are all created in the image of God. We may not be what we should but hopefully we move in that direction and try to please God. Praise be to God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit of God.

HI, call me RITA in a little way I can empathize with what you endured your pain was mainly physical and some psychological. My childhood was one of being treated as a piece of chattel. The girls weren't allowed any hope of moving beyond high school we were required to babysit our brothers and sisters. My younger brothers escaped by going navy, my sister ran off and got married, or got pregnant then got married. I was the next to the oldest, my older sister got married admittedly to get out from under and luckily to a man she loved beyond measure. I was left; the built in housekeeper, maid, babysitter, chief cook and bottle washer. To make matter's worse my sister expected me to do my duty and watch her child while she worked. I was on my own and working too at the time on the weekend's I was expected to watch the child so she could go to bars. I did it not for her but, because I loved the kid's then and now and don't regret taking care of them. I just didn't have a childhood, I was 26 yrs old when my Mother told me that I could move out any time now the youngest was 16 and she didn't need me anymore!! I WON'T PRETEND TO COMPARE ME TO YOU WHAT YOU WENT THRU IS UNIMAGINABLE IN MY BOOK. GOD AND JESUS CHRIST HAS ALWAY'S BEEN MY ROCK AND MY STRENGTH!! I will send some of my closest friends to watch over you every day!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon GOD BLESS emoticon
